Privacy at DishPage
DishPage makes digital menus for restaurants. We collect as little as possible and never sell data. This page explains what happens when you view a menu, and what we keep for restaurant owners.
If you are viewing a menu
We do not use cookies, accounts or fingerprinting to track you. When a menu loads, your browser sends us a small anonymous event. We keep only daily totals per restaurant:
- number of views and dish openings, and searches typed into the menu (the words, not who typed them);
- device type (phone, tablet or desktop), country (provided by Cloudflare) and the website that linked to the menu;
- an estimate of unique visitors per day. For this we combine your IP address and browser name with a random value that changes every day, and store only a scrambled result. We delete the random values within two days, so the result can't be linked back to you or across days. We do not store your IP address in our analytics.
Your browser may keep a copy of the menu so it opens quickly next time. That copy stays on your phone and is not sent to us.
Server logs and security
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard access logs (including IP addresses) to keep the service secure and working. These logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. Our traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for how they handle requests.
If you are a restaurant owner
- What we keep: your restaurant's details and menu, the photos you send, and the contact details you give us (name, phone, email). If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email address from Google.
- Why: to build and run your menu, let you sign in, and send you menu statistics and service messages.
- AI tools: to read menu photos and draft dish descriptions, we send menu photos and dish names to DeepSeek. To create illustrative dish images and turn owners’ voice notes into text, we use Cloudflare Workers AI. Their use of this data is governed by their business terms; we don't send diners' data to either.
- Your control: you can ask us to correct, export or delete your data at any time.
Where data is stored
DishPage runs on our own server in India. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above.
